Perfect pool, but phosphates were high - no one using currently, should I bother reducing?

I know this is a hit dated but just found the paper. Phosphates per Leslie's was 1157. My test was 1000, maybe higher but less than 2000. So seems they were fairly accurate on this test.

Perfect pool, but phosphates were high - no one using currently, should I bother reducing?

Hahaha, I don't go unless I need something I can't find elsewhere cheaper, for example had to buy muriatic acid at leslies which is when I had them test my water to compare to my numbers. I test my water on my own but this is first time testing phosphors

Thanks, will ignore. Now I'm curious what Leslie's had the level at. Maybe I'll swing by one day and see

Results are in Phosphors: Home test: 1000ppb (could be higher , but definitely less than 2000ppb) Leslie's test: unknown. They won't pick up the phone! Is 1000ppb considered high or normal?

Perfect pool, but phosphates were high - no one using currently, should I bother reducing?

Thank you. Since phosphates aren't something I normally test. Is it really necessary to go off my measurement vs the pool store for this one test? If yes, which test is best to get for it? If no. And pool store phosphate remove is sh1t, where do I go about purchasing it

Thanks I had read that already, but it wasn't clear when you should do so for insurance policy purposes.

Ps: yes I know thenold adage if it ain't broke don't fix it. But I also know the one that says "prepare when you can, not when you need to"

Perfect pool, but phosphates were high - no one using currently, should I bother reducing?

Pool is perfectly balanced, clear as can be. It's a bit cold so no one is using it yet. When I went to buy something at the store I had them test the water (I do this once in the beginning of the year just to see how well it matches up to my measurements, but I never bought a phosphate testing...

Can salt level rise from a lot of swimmers?

So it does seem to do this when flow is not good and I guess last time I caught it just as I had upped.the flow. Here is a picture of my rpm @ 1200 and then what it looks like after I jump it up. First pic shows red flow and flashing green and red alternating on bad/good lights Second shows...

    Thripes?

Oh springtails....not thripes Thanks for the article. I do have some pine trees I removed just uphill of a retaining wall last summer. There are wood chips there from them being ground down and I wonder if that is the source of them. Gonna call my exterminator tomorrow and see if they will...

    Thripes?

Are these thripes? Twice this year I've gotten them right after some major rains. I had switched over to SWG this year and this is the first time in 8 years I've ever recalled seeing them. Is there anything specific to SWG and thripes that would be something I need to check or worry about...

Can salt level rise from a lot of swimmers?

would a change in the variable speed pump or a re-priming cause the railroad red/green?

Can salt level rise from a lot of swimmers?

Fair enough but even if inaccurate, ultimately I have to go by what it says it needs or has 2 much of, even if my test says otherwise, right? At least presumably with a brand new unit that is 2 weeks old

Can salt level rise from a lot of swimmers?

New SWG, but not new to TFP. Switched over recently and had everything balanced and good, salt about 3600 ppm and IC60 said it was happy. Had a big party with lots of kids swimming in the pool (enough that post end of day the water in deep end began getting a bit cloudy). I checked my IC60 at...

Question about Ratio of CYA and FC - with respect to what is ok to swim in when FC is high

I read here: https://www.troublefreepool.com/wiki/index.php?title=Free_Chlorine#:~:text=Active%20chlorine%20levels%20are%20different,in%20from%20a%20chlorine%20perspective. I won't go into explicit details, but I had just converted over to an SWG and my pump was off for a day and then there...

Calcium Chloride as a replacement for Damp Rid?

Hi All, indirectly pool/chemistry related. I have extra Calcium Chloride I also have a safe in which I typically use Damp Rid buckets to keep the items in the safe from gaining too much moisture. I understand Damp Rid is predominantly Calcium Chloride. When my damp rid bucket is used up, can...

Converting to SWG - can I prepare ahead of time by adding salt now?

My pool is all opened and usual liquid chlorine and cya levels. Everything is clear and stable. I intend to switch over to a SWG (pentair ic60) and I'm waiting for the site evaluation and installation. I'm trying to jump this sooner than later given the cost of liquid chlorine. Can I start...
