That plug on the top is what you open to let the air out. Open it until it's cleared the air out and then close it. - - - Updated - - - If that doesn't work then air is sucking in from one of the inlet fittings would be my guess.

Depends how deep you have to dig. I had 6" worth in some spots so I used a tiller to loosen it up in that area. The tiller was on it's last leg and had dull tines so it wasn't really going too deep but helped me get down close to where I needed to be. Took us a few weeks to dig it all out by...

Nice job chayne! I considered hard plumbing it but I made it all work with what I had. This pool had dual inlets for the pump so that shut off valve is useless to me now. I took the one for the return and put it on the inlet to the pump so at least I have a shut off there. Will have to source...

Ok the skimmer has been mounted in and liner cut. New problem is I don't know how to tie in the hose from the skimmer to the new Intex pump. The sizes don't match. Don't know where the shut off valve would go either. The male threads on the bottom of the skimmer is way larger than the female nut...

Well it is about half full of water. If I cut first will it not stretch? Sorry...I've read a lot of the old threads and trying to ask as few questions as I can but this is like cutting hair...you can always take a little more off but you can't put it back on once you've cut it.

So I ordered a skimmer to install and ready to do that today. The pool is about knee deep so the liner is tight and wrinkle free. It's my understanding that I need to cut the "butterfly" gasket in half? As in cut it to where I have (2) rectangles correct? One goes on the outside and one goes on...

Curious on this as well. Just got a new Intex sand filter and it specifically says to use #20 silica which is $25 a 50 lb bag online. I called the local pool place he said they had #40 which "is what all sand filters use". He had 50 lb bags for $10 each. I stopped at HD as I needed to anyway and...

We are switching to a sand filter as well on a 24' round Intex. New pump/filter is suppose to be delivered today. Our's has 2 inlets to the pump as well. I want to add a skimmer too. So how would I tie in both of the inlets and a skimmer into the filter? Or should 1 inlet be disconnected in...
