    Pebbletec choice/desperate

That's smart visiting pools. Our PB arranged for us to see at least 3 pools in our original choice, Midnight Blue, from recent builds. He'd just call the owner and they were happen to let us in. Not one of those pools looked like the other in water color. What mattered most was amount of...

Ice maker recommedations (full-size or countertop)

That's the loaded question! We have been through many. We have bought a lot on Amazon, mostly odd names and whatever Sam's is carrying at the moment. But, also name brands like Frigidaire. We are currently on a GE, which we would return due to the awful noise it can make at times, but it is...

Ice maker recommedations (full-size or countertop)

We have been through many, and I mean many, countertops over the years at home and office. Still keep one at both locations at all times. I don't care what brand you get, how much "quality" you pay for, about 1 year is the life of these things, like clockwork. We just factor that as cost of...

    Pentair Mastertemp 400HD

Yes, there's a conversion kit or propane ready in the 400 series. I remember there was a little mix-up in my quote right at us finalizing the deal where the conversion kit was first not known by them to be needed, then, was going to cost an additional $700???? Since propane was well known to...

Help identifying mystery in-ground spa jets with eyeball circa 2003

Yes, Aquastar. Same ones put in 2 years ago in my pool and in spa. The fitting/housing is standard 1.5", and same was used for my Microbrite lights.

Plaster dust or bad plaster job?

Especially in the blues, I've never seen complete uniformity. As the dye fades in over time, you'll find a bit less mottling look, and, you will find shadowing is much of it, where in full direct sun it looks almost uniform. It's just a cement product with dye, varied stone colors, uneven...

Plaster dust or bad plaster job?

Blotchy? That actually looks quite normal and good for a dark plaster. Color variations, mild mottling, is considered part of it. All the manufacturers disclaim this in their warranty, quartzscapes is same: 5. Application, exposure and start up techniques will result in unique variations...

    Water evap at 80 degrees

I believe that's because it's a factor already in your dew point variable.

Naive - Critique my sunshelf /spa / pool design- how can I make a better use for the space?

I know sunshelfs are "a thing", and everyone focuses on them during build, but in the end, they ain't "all that". We did the whole thing - chairs here, bubblers there!!! But, given it only gets used as a big step to the pool, at least mine and everyone else's I've ever seen as used, I'd never...

Pentair Microbrites - no more red?

Thanks! Sad part is that I bet over the 2 years I don't have more than 10 hours total on these lights. Maybe if they had come in yellow bug light they would have had more :)

Pentair Microbrites - no more red?

2nd year on mine, and as expected from reading here I now have one only spitting out white. Truth be, I don't use them due to living on lake and year round bug of some kind fills immediately, but guess they really are short-term investment bulbs, especially being LED this ain't right!

Newb OB with BYOP in Buckeye AZ - Short vacation pH and FC question

Best I can measure on my 9" deep ledge, the center of my microbrite is 9.5" below top of beam with a mere .25" below it to spare. The face of light is about 2".
