    Bungee Plug

Curious if you went with the bungee plugs? I've used them for 3 seasons now with no issues. I put a little lube on the o-rings and the inside of the rubber cone, and screw them in. As far as the rubber shrinking, because of the cone shape the weight of the water will push it against the seat...

    Whoops - ice vs liner

Already fixed :) I kept the piece of liner that was cut out from the in-wall ladder and was able to make a patch matching the pattern.

    Whoops - ice vs liner

Ran the cover back a few weeks ago to have a look when there was still ice floating on the pool. Opened last weekend and I’m losing water. Finally got time to inspect today, and found the problem. Looks like the cover dragged the ice into the corner and punctured the liner. Won’t make that...

Pool Leaks, Concerned About Liner & Cover

How thick does it freeze? Just spitballing here, but can you make a hole?

What did you do to your pool today?

Closed up for winter last weekend. Heat pump has been off for a while, and the water was down to 51. 2nd year closing with "Bungee-Plugs" return plugs. Still very happy with the product compared to the expansion plugs I was originally using. I slipped with the channel locks, though, and...

Bungee Plugs - Anyone ever used these?

I'm happy - as far as I can tell they held. Just closed up today with them again. No issues - the rubber was still soft and in good condition. I smeared some lube tube on the o-rings and on the mating surfaces of the conical plugs. Pressurized air pushes them out just enough for bubbles to...

    Ugh - wind

I think it's a combination of air pushing into the Gap at the pit end like you said, but also as the wind blows across there is a low pressure created that lifts the cover as well. Like an airplane wing. You can see it pull up off of the water at the leading end. The wind primarily blows that...

    Ugh - wind

Yippie- look again, that's the waste port off the sand filter, lol. Moving water from under the cover to on top... Rocket:. No "weight" to speak of on the cover - it's just floating on the surface of the pool. By pumping pool water on top I'm sinking it a couple of inches, but there is a ton...

    Ugh - wind

High winds lifting the auto cover and beating it up... Have to weigh it down for a while.

Does pool pump need to be running for heater to work?

Yes - same thing. The pump has to push the water through the heater for it to work. There is a switch in the heater that won't allow it to turn on unless the water is flowing.

Valve Actuator: Current Draw & DIY Automation

DIN rail mounting sure does make for a clean looking panel. Seems like everything is more expensive, though - contactors, relays, all of it...

    LED lighting questions

Seems to me there are a TON of threads on here about failed LEDs. Color issues, sync issues, and flat out failures, then hundreds of dollars in repairs. I can't change colors, but my single 500w light has never had an issue, and bulbs are readily available. Costs me about 5 cents an hour to...
