After googling the lil critters Im seeing in my pool (looks like spots of ashes in corner of pools but its really lil bugs) I have decided they are springtails. Anyone else? I shocked the pool and am leaving filter running..

Thanks. I've been doing more reading. I watered the lawn today and i think that's what got em all active. Hope they are all in the skimmer tomorrow!
I’m in the middle of a slam with fc at 16 (adding Lc every two hours) and they are diving in like mad and seem to be surviving . Any other suggestions ?
Stay the course. High level of chlorine seems to get them every time.....may take a day or so.
I have been using diluted Dawn and dousing the concrete patio, including relief cracks, rocks surrounding the concrete near the pool and every moving springtail I can spot. Seems to be eliminating the majority. Seeing about a tenth of what I saw previously. I’ve done this Process three maybe four times now. I tried vinegar prior to dawn with no results. It’s time consuming but worth it

None in the pool only the surrounding areas . Cya 40 keeping fc at 8. Falls to about 4 before I add again (next evening) bring back to 8
