Board Repair

I added smart phone control to my AquaLogic:

But it does have limitations. Currently only supports Windows and Android (but could support IOS/MAC) and only local WiFi control and not via the internet (off site).

Given, you have a board to replace, it might be worth it to upgrade if you have the budget.

Also, if you are in to electronics, there are several threads where people have built their own controllers.
Thats really cool!

Well when I made a 500 dollar purchase it seemed like a no brainer to replace the board and apparently I needed a brain when I goofed with generic. Now although there is a range from 700-1100 it has me thinking about upgrading since one could say my system is nearing "end of life" The OmniPL seems reasonable in price as an upgrade but would I need more than a simple board ie are there other costs beyond the board. Although I am leaning toward just replacing the main board.

It looks like their address is a storage locker.

They have 376 reviews on Google, but those might be mostly fake.

You can read the reviews for yourself to see if they help any.

The average is 4.7 stars, which isn't bad if the reviews are accurate and authentic.

It is a person working from a storage unit with no business license and no resale tax certificate as required by law.

Note: You can ask them about their license and tax certificate to be sure.

A Privilege Tax License means that a business can buy products for resale and pay no taxes on their purchase, but they must collect sales taxes on the products that they sell and they must pay those taxes to the city.

They are an authorized Hayward on line dealer
Where can that be verified?

You are way too easy to fool.

You need to be a lot more skeptical and check things out better and not trust what people say.

Not listed as a dealer.

Holy Cow! Its like microsoft will call me and I will refund them with Best Buy gift cards. This is eye opening. Obviously I am way to trusting with online purchases. I will use the tool you gave me.
Thank you.

Say they are authorized. Firm about no return.
Ask Hayward if they are an authorized dealer.

Anyone can claim anything.

They do not seem to be listed as a Dealer on the Hayward Dealer Locator.

I would use Inyo or Polytec.

Early on this thread I suggested you look at going to the OmniPL Upgrade.

Long term you will be a lot better off.

Yes I did consider that and its not ruled out. I just went down the rabbit-hole with this simple new board replacement that was defective.
Its hard for a DIY person to learn about the pros and cons of the OmniPL. For example. Does the upgrade come with a board as well as a display? In order to take advantage of ethernet does it need other modules? What is cost of all these modules to have a fully functioning OmniPL. I watched some videos but am left with these questions.

You are over thinking it. Right now the OmniPL is Haywards most modern automation system.

For example. Does the upgrade come with a board as well as a display?
Yes, it is a full package unlike Haywards prior systems.
In order to take advantage of ethernet does it need other modules?

Nope. Networking and app all included.

What is cost of all these modules to have a fully functioning OmniPL.

Just get the OmniPL Retrofit system HLBPRO4SW and you will have more then what you have now. Some people with old ProLogic systems needed to replace their transformer that I think Hayward comped.
