Thats a wrap on our first full pool season. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to maintain the pool all year, even with having to manually vacuum once a week. TFP was no doubt a large contributor in making my first full year of pool ownership a positive one.
Closing was easy again.
- Pumped down the water below skimmers
- Added 1 gal of 6% bleach to bring FC up to SLAM level
- Blew out the drains, skimmers, and returns with our new Cyclone blower (shout-out
@Newdude for the duct tape suggestion, it worked just fine)
- Removed filter cartridges and cleaned for storage
- Removed plugs from pump and filter
- Removed and stored SWG inside
- Installed Safety Cover
It took about 2-3 hours total working mostly by myself, and getting a little help with the cover from my wife.
My only issue at this point is that I am not getting a good seal with my Gizzmo in one of my skimmers. The skimmer structure is too close to where the threaded insert would go that it doesn't tighten down correctly and create a seal. I will probably try to come up with some sort of riser or adapter, or maybe try a different brand of Gizzmo. In the meantime I'll probably just dump a good bit of antifreeze down there for safety.
