Harmonic noise from newly installed RayPak 366A NG

I have the polymer head. So to change bypass head has to come off. The model you’re showing is a bit different but still a 366A. Bit confusing but that’s it. Also to keep the plumbing on the right everything would have to be torn down to relocate. My previous heater Jandy I flipped the head and no issues. So based keeping it that way because had no issues the first time. My bad.
 
Jandy and Pentair use 120 degrees for their thermostat.

Make sure that yours opens completely at 105 degrees as shown on the part.

High or low no real change. Too low it will fault because pressure too low. Variable speed pump.

Yes. Raypak is 105. I got the temperature at around 110 which is in the range of what RayPak recommended for checking it. It opened at least half to 3/4 “

Okay. So what is considered opening 100%. I don’t believe these open that full gap? Meaning like an inch of compressing the spring. But I’m no mechanic.
Maybe check with Raypak or the part manufacturer to inquire about the exact full opening distance.

Is there a manufacturer stamped on the part?
I don’t have one in front of me but I do not recall one.

Maybe get a UG that opens at 100 degrees, which should be high enough.

Raypak has specific ranges they want the water temperature within. Tight window and 100 would be out of spec and lead to increase in calcium buildup. So good idea but I’m trying to stay on spec with new heater
 
Note: I am not saying that you should not use the thermal regulator.

Many pool heaters never used thermal regulators and they worked just fine.

In my opinion, the thermal regulator is probably unnecessary unless the water is cold enough to cause the pipes to get wet with condensation.

Comfortzone (Now Hayward) usually did not use a thermal regulator and they would outlast every current heater on the market.

In any case, I am not saying that you should not use the thermal regulator.

I would actually take it out of the design and use an automated valve that would open during operation and close when the heater was off, which would do the same thing with less restriction.

I would also go to a single pass design instead of the multiple pass design.

In any case, I am not saying that you should not use the thermal regulator.

Calcium builds up from high temperatures.

Low temperatures cause condensation on the heat exchanger.
Sorry had it flipped. Correct.
I believe that heater was owned by George Lucas and was the original inspiration for R2D2 ....
well system fixed! After six weeks of the installers messing with this and not being able to figure it out, and even Raypak technical line, not being able to give a reasonable work through I contacted an authorized Raypak warranty repair service that was too far to come out. The gentleman there spent time with me on the phone with me sending him pictures and videos and we fixed it very quickly. It turns out Ray packs off-line when they come to be installed notoriously have the gas setting way too high, even though it doesn’t give you a fault. After working with adjusting the flames and sending videos of the flames to confirm that they were appropriate the noise has completely gone away. My digital readout shows still excellent flame. No error codes in the unit is running silent and perfect , not sure what the normal protocol is but utilizing their tech line that is not for residence and only for service people they were absolutely useless and had us go completely down the wrong path buying unnecessary parts to try to correct something that didn’t need corrected that being said I’m not sure if at the beginning the universal governor was ever truly a problem but that’s fine. I want to thank everybody in the group who has put their time and knowledge in it’s all been very informative and based on the information I was given was all very logical. And I want to thank the individual From the warranty service company for spending the time with me to make sure I had this right and save him a trip and save everybody a lot of work
