Some preliminary searching for this Zodiac unit's replacement part has not turned up the limited smaller part (in grey) that seems to need replacing, but rather only the entire top panel with connector. Is that how it must be repaired - with the whole top panel? Thanks in advance.

What is the model number of the zodiac?
Looks to be MX8 type, specifically the MX8 "Baracuda." The swivel attachment is broken (you can see this in the photos) but it seems the entire top cover assembly has to be purchased.

Is that correct, or can just the swivel attachment be obtained? That's an obvious failure point and it should be replaceable without buying a larger portion of the unit that is not affected/damaged.

It is not listed as a separate part. Only the entire top is in a parts list.

Pool company came by the house and unbeknownst to us, took the sweep in for repair. That top plate with swivel can be had for $30 online, and self-installed. The pool company will charge several times that. Looking to stop it now.

Has anyone on the forum replaced this top plate with swivel assembly before? Can't be difficult but I do not immediately recognize how it's done when opening up the unit. Looks maybe like a hinge pin has to be tapped out. Knowing this now would be a help. Thank you.
