Zodiac G2 not moving

I guess it wasnt as clean as I thought. Only the top seem clean.
The bottom was caked on with the DE and debris.
I sprayed and soap the grids and scooped out the remaining gunk.
Good catch! :goodjob:
The funny thing, my wife said I glued the manifold around 10 years ago between pool cleaning companies.
Uh oh. Never good when the wife reminds us of things from 10 years ago.

yes progress..haha
Lining up the grids are a pain. All put back together.
I'm back to my familiar 10 PSI.
So I got the cleaner moving but the sad thing is it's for only a minute or two then it would stop.
Doesn't matter if its on the bottom or the wall, it would just stick.
I tried adjusting the flow valve thinking it now is sucking to much but no difference.
I can wiggle it with the brush and it will start moving again.

Since I already changed the diaphragm could it be the foot pad? It doesn't look worn flat but a little.

Also I still have an air bubble in the pump basket but I don't see bubbles coming in or blowing out into the pool.

Any other suggestions for next weekend.
That's it..I'm tired..got to go to work to rest.

Zea3,
I have mostly small plant debris, leaves. I've replaced the diaphragm due to previous cleaner symptoms not moving which usually worked.
In this case it did not and ended up with multiple other issues that I have now corrected one by one.
So I'm back to a partial non working cleaner.

I'm still looking for suggestions.
I'm going to go buy another diaphragm just in case the one I replaces is defective. That would be the cheapest route.
If that doesn't work I think next will be shopping for another cleaner.

At this point I'm starting to believe that may be the best route as well. You've done a lot already and made some progress, but some of those cleaners just have a mind of their own. Me personally, once I stop everyone else's crisis in the family (if ever) I plan on getting nice self-powered automated robot like a Dolphin or something. I only have one suction port (in the skimmer) and I don't like to interrupt that with anything like my Barracuda. Have a nice weekend!

If you buy a suction cleaner, get a Hayward (Poolverneugen) The Pool Cleaner or a Pentair Warrior (Rebel) or a Hayward Aqua Bug (Aqua Critter). Those are the only ones people seem happy with.

Mine runs on 460 watts at 10 RPM wheel speed, so around 0.6 HP. It needs more like 1.2 HP to vacuum walls, but I don't bother. It will move, clean and cover the bottom down to around 210W, but takes longer to cover the whole floor. I have a bypass skimmer plate, so I can skim at the same time. With your 2 HP, you'll get much better simultaneous skimming than I can get.

Brand new one is around $350/400 for comparison.

Its been a few weeks but this should be my final update for my issue with my G2 cleaner.
First, THANK YOU for everyone's help.
I first took in my motor to replace the seal and bearings do to a leak and thinking it might be the air issue with the ortega valve gasket and pump basket gasket.
Ended just having the seals replaced due to they couldn't guarantee while trying to remove the bolts might trash the hold thing due to the age.
I ended up going the cheap route and purchased a used Kreepy krauly and all is working now.
So I still don't know why G2 stopped suction after a minute or so but that's now history.
Thank you again

I'm glad we were able to help :)
