Zodiac Fusion Overheat failure

Units 7 years old and replaced the cell 1 year ago. Not sure whether it’s the cell or the cable that went bad first. Any way to test the cell for some kind of short. Obviously the cable is now bad. Any experiences with this? If it’s the cell….I’ll likely purchase a new unit with warranty of another brand. Please weigh in. Would rather just pay the $100 for a new cable for now, B5B401D8-6E4C-4D76-ADD0-F25F1EBC07D8.jpegif the cell can be tested in some way and still works. Thanks.

The cell should be under warranty. Call Jandy and request a replacement. They should send you a cell for no charge along with a new cable. If they ask, tell them you've called every repair shop in your area and no one will return your calls because they are too busy. If they ask about the cable, tell them you'll find a local electrician to replace it.

That issue happens with that cell. The center electrode (not only, but especially) leaks water into the cap area corroding it completely through. It is likely other than the terminal, the cell is fine. Unfortunately, there is no way to repair the cell has no serviceable parts. I went through a very similar thing with mine 1 week from the end of warranty and Jandy sent me a new cell and cable no questions asked.

Hey thanks. Fluidra sent me new cell under warranty but I have to replace the cable. Better than the cost of a new cell. Guess I Have to store cable end and cell over winter better. I’ll just use the old cell as a dummy during winterization. Just a shot of dielectric grease each year did not work.
