Never mind. Ignore this thread . You can't fix stupid and I was stupid. I plumbed it backwards. DUH!
I installed a Doheny's cartridge filter. I even read the directions and followed them, even though it's a no brainer. Turned pump on, no water. Investigation revealed that there is a valve of sorts at the water inlet, which drops down with gravity to open the inlet, but rises when water is flowing to shut off the inlet. (See photos of water inlet and this piece of plastic that goes up and down.) It is not mentioned in the instructions or anywhere on the internet that I can find. I tried to unscrew the gray ring to remove it, but that ain't happening. I was hoping that maybe there was a part that attached to the lid to push it down or even to the cartridge itself, but no.
Apart from just simply breaking it or putting a stick in it to stay open or whatever, does anyone have any ideas about this thing?
