Yellow ring above water level

We just opened our brand new pool at the beginning of May, 2 weeks in we got this strange yellow ring around the whole pool above the water line. We initially thought it was algae however it does not scrub off at all. We shocked the pool, I tried asorbic acid on it, vinyl cleaner, yellow algae eliminator and nothing the stain does not budge. We got our water tested 3-4 times last week and there are no metals and our water is crystal clear please help!

Was the water level higher before and convering the stained area?
Or was it lower all winter?

What are all the chemicals you have added to the pool since install?

Our pool was built in nov 2017, the company filled the water halfway and closed the pool. The company came and opened it for us - since then we were using a tablet that was a solar liquid, Algecide in one (once a week), and salt. 2 weeks later this appears on our liner and stained our bathing suits and toys with this bright yellow. And it does not brush off at all.

Oh and the water level was never above the stain. Only after the stain did we increase the water so when we used the shock it would remove the stain but nope it didn’t even fade.

Do you have a test kit. If not, I'll recommend getting the TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C. I'm curious to see what your numbers look like. Algecide is not recommended. All you need in Chlorine, & CYA (stabilizer). Muriatic Acid and Borax to manage PH on a periodic basis as needed. I'm not sure what that stain could be. I'm sure someone will chime in here soon though. They may have more information for you.

Well clearly whatever was causing the stain must have been on the surface if it only impacted at and above the waterline and your swimsuits. So I would suspect whatever was in that magic pill, the solar liquid
