Yellow Algae

I have been fighting yellow algae for 2 weeks. I thought it was dirt due to Houses being built in my neighborhood. Did the SLAM (passed everything) and brought my chlorine up to 40 for 24 hours and put all of our equipment in. Gone. We had people over to swim yesterday and threw a gallon of 12.5% chlorine in which raised our chlorine level to 14. This morning, I had bright yellow “dirt” along all the seams and on the bottom of the deep end. I have read all the threads but what’s up? We asked party goers to wash all suits before they came. Other than that we have not swam for a week while I fought this mess…

6ppm. I added a gallon of 12.5% which brought it to 14ppm after the sun went down. It was the same this morning. Poor is clear. I keep brushing the whole thing. It’s not cloudy. The stuff on the seems was bright goldish yellow.
Any ideas? Maybe it’s just dust for the homes being built as I don’t have much cl usage. It is in full sun.
