My Hayward TriStar vsp runs 24/7 . I just bought a pureline 40,000 gallon SWG.my pump is wired 220v to my Intermatic timer, I just took the trippers off. I was going to wire my SWG to it and keep power to it 24/7. Is that okay? Also I run my vsp at 3 different speeds, so should I see what flow rate triggers my flow switch for the SWG and give it a break from generating? Although I realize it will still have power going to it. Thanks for any advice

Welcome!

Which timer do you have? If a mechanical T-104, it should have terminals marked 1-2-3-4. You would wire your pump to Terminals 1 and 3 which are always hot. Connect your SWG to Terminals 2 and 4 which are controlled by the timer/trippers.

The SWG should only receive power when the pump is running.

Yes thank you but I run my vsp 24/7 so should I run the swg 24/7 or wire it as you described and set trippers on the timer to run my swg only x amount of hours per day? I would be worried that I may not generate enough chlorine. Thanks
