Installing circupool rj 60 and uneasy about wiring. The young pool guy said he couldn’t do it because he wasn’t familiar with our system—it’s from 1986. That was a good year for me, but not sure his parents were even born yet.

I’ve attached a picture of the box and a pic of the circupool, which is hung right next to it. Do we attach to the same screws the wires coming from the pump are in? How can I tell which pump wire is ground, neutral, hot? Many thanks for your consideration.

Your black and white wires should go on number 2 and 4 respectively. That left screw will stay empty. Green goes on the middle bottom where the other green wires are connected. There is a lot going on in that box. I just connected my SWG and timer on Wednesday.

Thanks, all. It’s installed and it’s been running at 100% since 7 last night. BUT my chlorine levels haven’t gone up one single bit. How long does it take to show SOMETHING? (Ive been doing this pool thing for 21 years, and I feel stupid like that first year 21 years ago).

You should use Liquid Chlorine to raise your FC and the SWCG to maintain it. SWCG isn't really good at raising FC.

Don't know your starting FC is, didn't see it in your pool math logs.

My RJ-45 is very slow to increase an FC level but pretty good at maintaining it. So as long as you are sure the water is 100% algae-free (do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test if you need to), then check your CYA level to ensure it's at 70 minimum. Then adjust your pump run time and output. My pool is almost 18K. I run my pump 24/7 so I stay at a relatively low output of about 30-35%.

Thank you! Checked volts and amps with the tech guys at DSP, and they said the machine is good, my water needs tweaking. Adjusted CYA and now my FC is up to 5 this morning. TA and pH are not yet where they should be. Still not clear water, but making progress.
