Wire Brush + Quartz Pool = Discoloration

I decided to use a wire brush to try and tackle a few stubborn stains (of unknown type) and I can see the areas where we brushed are lighter in color than the areas we didn't brush. Should quartz finishes discolor when using a wire brush?

I can't tell if the spot is just cleaner or actually discolored.

pH
TA
CH
CYA
salt if applicable

Can you add a picture of the stains? Was this a pool specific metal brush?

Also it would help if you went to "Settings" and provided us full info on the pool, equipment in use, testing and chemicals used, size, yada yada yada. This helps us to answer questions better. Thanks
