Can anyone tell me how high my winter pool closing chlorine level should be (can be) when using my autocover as the winter cover? The manual says we should keep the level 1-4 during swim season, but we all know winter chemical levels are different. We certainly don't keep the chlorine at the low end of their recommendation when open, and heaven knows that level gets jacked up at closing (usually). Do we have to treat this new pool with an autocover in a dramatically different way (chemically) than we did our old pool that we closed with a mesh cover? What do you all do??? I'm not totally trusting the pool store closing people will know what is "best," only what they usually do, so I need to be armed with information before Wednesday's closing. Thanks!!

Hey Suz !!!!

Nothing changes and closing is the same.

We rec the owner handling the closing chemicals prior to the company coming, to ensure they don't dump in anything harmful, to your pool or your wallet. Or both.

How are you testing the water ?

Do the chems as listed here

They’re just there for the laborious parts. Be adamant or they may try to sneak a magic pill in there!
They are really just blowing out lines since you have an auto cover. Your pool almost closes itself 🤣
