Wifi replacement for T104?

Hi - the motor is shot on my T104. While it would be easy to just replace the motor wondering if this is the time to move over to a Wifi Controller. The T104 currently runs my 1.5hp 240v pump motor and that's the only device that runs on the timer portion of the T104. However, the unit also supplies power to my Jandy salt system and Pentair heater. When I look products from Dewenwils and Suraielec they seem to say that they can only power one 240v unit, which in this case would be the pump motor, but they can't also supply power to the salt system and heater. I spoke to the tech at Dewenwils and they confirmed that "limitation." Anyone know what product can handle this? Again, the timer portion is only for the pump. The others just need power.

Thank you for any guidance that you can provide.

Stu,

That makes it sound like your salt system gets constant AC power.. If so, that is a bad idea... If the flow switch ever fails it is possible that the cell can explode.. We have seen it several times here at TFP. Granted, it does not happen often, but does happen.

I understand the most Wi-Fi timers do not have multiple outputs, but find it hard to believe that you can't power your pump and salt system off the same 240 volt output...

Maybe I just don't understand what limitation they are talking about...

Thanks,

Jim R.

The salt system only gets power when the pump motor is turned on and that allows the salt system to turn on. It has zero power unless the motor is on. The heater on the other hand, has power regardless of whether or not the pump is turned on so I have to manage that that doesn't happen as it would be bad for the heater to be on with no water flow. I always figured that the heater installers did that poorly neither the salt system (correctly installed) nor the heater (poorly installed) should run without the pump.

Even when I explained that I didn't want any type of schedule or control for the salt system and heater, just power I still got:

Dear Customer,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
We're so sorry our products cannot meet your needs.
At 220V, all of our timer boxes can connect only 1 device, if you want to control all three devices, you will need 3 timer boxes.
Best regards,
Dewenwils Customer Service

Thanks for your response.

Stu,

I think they are saying that their timer cannot "individually" control 3 devices.. So, you could not have one device on and two devices off...

But nothing is stopping you from powering all three on at the same time, from the same voltage source.

Thanks,

Jim R.
