My pool was not maintained last summer, result green pea soup. I added a load of liquid chlorine. Water went from green yo blue but almost completely opaque. I have backwashed, cleaned the filters, and added floculent, run the pump almost continuously. I now have a 'marbling' of very fine white suds on the surface Help.

Bonjour. and welcome to TFP! Let us help get you started by discussing some basics:
- For algae, we use the "SLAM" technique - link below in my signature
- To perform a "SLAM", you'll need a proper test kit. Not sure if you can get the TF-100 (link below) shipped to you. That's the one I recommend. If not, you can try the Taylor K-2006C (make sure it's the C model). You need either one of those kits.
- Once received, we must see a full set of test numbers. It will help to get you on track for the SLAM and should help tell us why you are experiencing the foaming.

Also make sure to update yoru signature with all of your pool and equipment info. We'll use that as well. Nice to have you with us.
