This may be in the wrong place…
I have these little white squares that float round in the pool and eventually settle to the floor after nobody has been in it for a while.

At first i thought it may be white water mold, but it doesn’t float to the surface. I’m guessing potentially scale coming from the SWG? My CSI is really low.

I’m guessing I need to get my CH up a bit to help.

Of note, I also have what looks like scale forming on the liner. The liner is embossed and is not smooth.

Your CSI is negative, so you won’t get calcium scaling on surfaces. You don’t need to add calcium. Can you get a picture of the squares?

This is the best I can get. My daughter said she saw it coming out of the return, which leads me to believe it’s coming off the SWG. Sinks to the bottom and is paper thin.

Are you able to collect any of the flakes from the bottom using your skimmer net? You can confirm they are calcium flakes by putting a couple drops of muriatic acid on them. They should fizz and bubble.

There's nothing in your chemistry that would indicate a tendency for scale in the SWG cell.

I’m baffled, nothing to indicate scaling and the FC has always held solid so I don’t think it’s white water mold either.

We have what looks like scale on the liner too, it’s the white on the bottom of this pic and it does not come off with brushing. I looked at it up close and it definitely looks like something sticking to the liner as opposed to bleaching. I’m at a loss.
