White Smart Bright Quartz pool gray spots after removing stains with pumice stone

Hello all,

I've had my pool since December. Initially I got a few rust colored stains on the surface and tried rubbing them out with a pumice stone. This got out the stain but left a grey spot in it's place. Later I a got some other stains and tried muriatic acid and also ascorbic acid. That did not remove the stains, but also left a gray spot. Ultimately i got those stains out again with a pumice stone, but am not pleased with the dark spots. Not sure if I can get the grey spots out or if that is just the price of getting out the rust colored stains.

Here are a couple pics Sorry, the big spot in the second picture is my shadow, but i think you can see the 3 little spots as well.

Also, the most likely culprit of the initial stains on the sundeck area are from clay soil on dog feet. The newer stains (in the second picture) are from pecan tree pollen falling to the bottom of the pool.

Update, the surface is not pebbletec but rather SmartBright Blue Quartz finish. Installer kept referring to it as pebbletec, but it is not.
