White haze on glass waterline tile

Hello guys!

I have a very light film of white haze on the waterline tile. I swear it just appeared last weekend after I had a gaggle of swimmers LOAD UP on sunscreen lotion and jump right in, but I do live in an area with hard water, so high CH is part of life and it could certainly have gotten away from me. Either way, I want it gone. I'm attaching my current numbers for advice, but I also want to know what I can do to clean off the haze on NPT Lightwaves glass tile in a way that will be effective and also not damaging. I see some people recommended abrasives like Magic Erasers or even SOS pads (that sounds a little terrifying), others suggesting a diluted muriatic acid applied and scrubbed, or applied and not scrubbed, but rinsed off after some soaking time. What is the safest method of removal to not damage the textured glass and grout? Will Magic Erasers cause tiny scratches to the glass finish? Will the diluted muriatic acid damage the grout?

Thanks!

My test results using the TF-100 and Leslie's results. We only agreed on chlorine and CYA. ...?

FC 8
CC 0
pH 7.8 (7.6 measured by Leslie's)
CYA 40
TA 60 (90 measured by Leslie's)
CH 600 (390 measured by Leslie's)
TDS (measured by Leslie's only - 2800)
Salt (measured by Leslie's only - 1900)

Enter your data (ignore LPS guesses) into PoolMath. It will give you CSI.

I did and your CSI is positive but not terribly so. But, at the waterline, with evaporation, you will continually get scale build up due to your high CH water. Best way to clean it is with a dilute muriatic acid solution.

If you expect it to never be there, you will be doing this really often.

Take care.

You should use a brush. It typically has other minerals it too that are not readily reactive with acid.

TDS is meaningless. You need to test for CH with your test kit. CH, TA, pH, salt (I used 500 as you do not have a SWCG) plus temperature effect the CSI the most.
