Just retired and in process of moving into new home (1994) in Florida from Indiana. We had an above ground pool. Our new house has an in ground pool with a swg. It has white flakes coming out of it. It takes awhile for the scale to build up on plates, couple months maybe.

this mornings tests: cl- 2, PH 7.8, TA, 70, CH 250, CYA 30, salt 3200, water temp 83, csi -.1 (using tf100 test kit with salt kit.)
I have lowered ph to 7.5 a few times, but it steadily rises to 7.8 and maintains there.

My understanding is these flakes are just cosmetic? (from reading on this site). Is this correct, or did I miss something?

Thanks

There's really nothing in your chemistry that stands out. You might try running your TA a notch down at 60 ppm.

Yes...just cosmetic. When your cell reverses polarity it's sloughs off the scale by design.
