While I wait to get my test kit, should I use liquid chlorine and brush the pool while I wait?

I have ordered a test kit to test my water, but the kit will not be here for another three days. I am new to this site and am eager to do the SLAM process for the first time. Since I have visible algae present would it be beneficial to put liquid chlorine in the pool today and then brush while I wait for my test kit to get in?

Yes. Add 5 ppm of liquid chlorine per day, per PoolMath.
