Which Hayward sand filter would you recommend

I am looking at either the Hayward 24in S244T or the side mount S310S. Currently we are set up with a side mount, but room isn't a concern if we went top mount. We are having all new plumbing done so we can add the unions for easier deep cleaning of sand. The cost is nearly double, but would I be happier with the larger filter. I presently have a Hayward multiport valve that is in great working order, so I don't really need a new valve. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
