Where to buy pool salt

Where are the best priced places to buy pool salt?
I've been using Morton Pure and Natural. It was $4.99/bag last year but is $5.98/bag this year.

While you can get bags of salt labeled "Pool Salt" from many places like Walmart, HD, Lowe's etc, you have other options as well. You can use water softener salt, or even solar salt which generally is the purest form of salt. Availability and store costs tend to drive where shoppers go.

Is solar salt ok vs. water softener salt?

Solar seems to be a bit more pure. Some softener salts may contain impurities like iron which could potentially result in a small stain if allowed to sit on the surface and not agitated and mixed well. Doesn't happen all that much, but others have commented on it in the past.

Typically its just the shape of the grannuals. Just don't get Chlorox branded salt its been known to have iron contamination and anything with additives.
