When to Shock

My pools chemistry is spot on. Everything right where I want it. Question I have is do I ever have to shock if all my numbers are In line. Basically if my CC is 0 should I still be shocking after heavy bather loads or do I just let it ride if my numbers are good. Thanks!!!

Not as far as we are concerned. Now after a large swimming party, your water may require a slight boost to stay within the range noted on the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA], but as far as a major SLAM/Shock level - no. Not unless you suspect algae.

Many of us have gone years without a green pool and never had to "shock".

If I'm having a bunch of people over, I'll boost the FC before and after, but it never approaches shock level.
