We're not required to do any engineering, also there isn't any states licensing tests or anything for pool contractors. Pretty much anyone can be a pool builder here. Also permits can be pulled 24hrs before construction begins. One of the gunite pool builder's motto's here is "We dig Monday, you swim Sunday."

Yes, my pool is now swimable... 1 week. The picture with the water is only 1 truckload of water... barely putting any in the deep end. That sat for one day. Today they backfilled and put another truckload of water in... then we used our house hose to top it off. Next, is our electrian who will come this week to hook everything up... But technically, we can swim!
