This was not in the pool this morning! It is tough like silly string, but more clingy like spider web. Thought maybe some egg mass, but none like I've seen and no egg sacs visible. The bugs in tow are some mayflies from the night before.

Any idea???

Yeah!!! My first fear was that a egret or pelican had relieved itself in the pool, but when skimmed, it came out intact in one full sheet of strings. Found some more in the robot filter. Hasn't happened again, so will remain the mystery organism, assuming organic. That in the filter had dried out, and just washed it off. It was still bright yellow with no degradation - just dry, rubbery, silly string looking.

It could be that someone has pranked you or it could be the beginning of the zombie apocalypse.

I am 99.9% it has not been seen on this forum for the fifteen years we have been here
I've been using the silly string comp because that's the closest thing it resembles, but maybe now I do need to quiz a neighbor at the end of the road now you mention the possibility it's not naturally occurring. We had a big blow that day. Saturday before, they had a big birthday party for their grandkid. Some windblown party favor from their property???

I've researched about every amphibian and bird that could emit such nonsense, and nothing comes close. It's not any kind of algae. It is more like spider web or rubber.
