What is this vibration/grinding noise? Change or repair?

Anyone knows what's the likely cause of this grinding noise. Its coming from the pump housing itself. Is it the bearing? Can it be fixed or needs the entire pump to be replaced?

Recommendations?

Thanks in advance.
Motor bearings and the rear bearing cup is slightly out of shape. That's where that pulsating noise if from. Its a problem with those motors. Has been for a long time.

Thanks - so, need to replace the entire unit or repair? Considering its a single speed motor - not sure if there's spare parts even.
Do you have automation? What is your energy rate ($/Kwh)? that motor is is using about 2.4 kw/hr. A survey says about $.15 per kwh or $.36/hour. Not bad, but that is $65.00/month for a 6-hour filter run.
A variable-speed 2.25 total horsepower motor will bolt to that Pentair pump and can be run, at lower speeds, for many hours for less than half that amount, give cleaner water, easier/less filter cleanings.
Having automation or not is the main issue in which motor to get.
A quick fix is to remove the long, thin bolts from the rear-end bell (if they will come out easily you don't want to break them, 5/16" nut driver), remove the end bell with some light taps with a screwdriver in the small slots you will see, wrap about 3 - 4 wraps of Teflon tape around the read bearing to take up the slop in the end bell and the noise will go away for a while. It takes patience to get the holes to line up and re-install the long bolts. Be sure to use a small amount of grease on the bolts if you get them out.
