New to this group and in need of advice. I have this little rubber nipple type thing that occasionally sprays a vertical stream of water when the pump is on. The pump is new but this plumbing came with the house. Any idea what is is and what causes it to spray water? Thank you!

The valve is missing the handle. Do you use the valve for anything? It might be worth replacing the valve with a Jandy Never Lube .
It looks like you'd have to find a way to get the broken nipple out. This part should work for you.
