What happened

i was away for three days and my chemistry is way off. We had a lot of rain, had to drain 3" of water. I tested after cleaning (not very dirty) and draining.
Any suggestions what could cause this. Never had this big of a swing.

FC went from 5.0 to 0.2
PH 7.6 to 7.0
TA stayed the same at 70
CH 270 to 260
CYA 35 to 25.

Not sure why you pH dipped but the SINGLE MOSt IMPORTANT thing is to get FC in your pool.........about 5 ppm worth..........sooner rather than later.

What does your water look like?

If no one added chlorine while you were away, it's understandable the FC fell close to zero. Once it got below 3 all bets are off for algae. A pool can easily use 2-4 ppm of FC each day. It's odd the pH dropped lower since normally we struggle with it rising. The small drop in CYA could be a testing variance.

Of the 3, the pH is most alarming to me. For now though, I would add liquid chlorine right away for an FC goal of 10. Keep it elevated today if possible. You might even consider doing an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to ensure organics aren't responsible for the odd changes. If you pass the OCLT, then increase the CYA to at least 40 ppm. Watch that FC closely though.

Monitor the pH over the next day or two to ensure it doesn't continue to fall

I found a dead mouse in the simmer basket. Could that be the cause?
FC is coming up will test again later.
Will look into overnight test.
I will also try to get the PH up today.

Was able to keep FC over 7 this weekend. Slowlyy bringing up CYA. HAd it tested at Pool store. Got the PH up and is stay about 7.6. Was just shocked in 3 days having such a drop in FC. Thanks for the help.

Dont do your testing at the pool store.

Dont do your testing at the pool store.

i was using this as conformation to the results I was getting using my K-2006c.
