What did you do to your pool today?

Got your damed storms here too, Patrick...may have to backwash even though I don't have to backwash ;)
Also a managed to overflow hot tub while refilling ... Which is why I shouldn't work from the home office on Mondays...stupid work interferes with my water maintenance ;)

Guess you could say the cup overfloweth today ;)

Hey guys, thought I would join in too and say hi. New to this site. I love it.....
just reading about you guys speaking about pollen.....its nice to know that it's not just where I am with the ridiculous amount of pollen falling....its crazy. I'm having a hard time keeping up with cleaning the stuff.

Welcome to TFP!!

Some still have pollen I see. My East Texas brethren can relate to that. Enjoy your time on the forum Danielle!

Prepared for storm.
Put up all the inflatables and loose pool toys.
Upped chlorine to top of range.
Pool's name is not Monica and it is not wearing a blue dress, but I'm sure it is gonna get Bill all over it.
Stay dry my Texas bretheren.

I have been so busy that I neglected to vacuume the pool for 4 days. I had to vaccume it twice this morning and skim the top. I will test the water today as I did not test yesterday and just dumped 10 ozs of bleach in yesterday. I know I should have tested, but based on my numbers from previous days I just dumped. Filter now on and skimmer is picking up the rest of the surface debris.

What is this?

Your continued status as a TFP guide is now under review by the committee. Infractions may be issued Lisa, but that is out of my control. :jocolor:

So, you have a life...no worries, just means you are normal. :)

Been AOL because swimming most days, decorating the backyard with umbrellas, yard/garden stakes, planters of flowers and pulling weeds. Had a pool party/sleepover for our son last weekend and the planning kept me out of the pool. :(
Enjoying it all with 85 - 90 d water temps with the heater running. Air temps have been ranging from 75 to 85 during the day. Mostly 80.
Funny thing: my son says the water feels a little cool at 88. :(

We just got hit by hurricane Bill! Or is it himicane Bill? I'm sure I'll be scooping leaves and junk outta my pool and it will be too cold to swim in. Again. coldest summer ever!!! Where is the ice cube emoticon???

My best season was 2012, seemed to be hot and sunny almost every day. We've already had a week of 90s and decent sun. Ready for that again! This week has been plenty humid, but rainy and in the 80s. Water is currently 72.

Today I replaced my Waterway 2HP 2-speed pump with a Hayward 1HP 2-speed. The waterway was so loud it could easily cause hearing damage. The bearings must have been completely shot.

Well, TS Bill paid us a visit today and left behind several leaves in the pool. Scooped those out and ran the pool vac. Will probably be doing both again tomorrow as I can still hear the wind gusts. To anyone reading this who is building a pool...If you are considering planting leafy trees anywhere near your pool, reconsider! Unless, of course, you enjoy scooping leaves out of your pool. I have only one tree on the property and it's in the front yard. I am constantly amazed at how much stuff from that tree plus the neighbor's Bradford Pear, which will likely defy the typical short-lived nature those trees are known for and probably live forever, clears the 2-story house and makes it into the pool.

We definitely got our needed rain this spring and the lakes are beyond full. Now I am definitely ready for a return of the typical boring summer weather we are known for - the kind where weather forecasters can take summer vacation from now until after Labor Day since the forecast for this three month period usually calls for partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-90's to low-100's. Bring on boring!
