Hi everyone! Looking for some thoughts and opinions on player. We're getting ready to replaster out pool. Having not built this pool, or ever renovated one before, I'm a little overwhelmed by the choices. I think we've decided on wet edge satin matrix. Any thoughts or opinions on this? How about colors? We're looking at aqua blue and cool blue, and maybe north shore Caribbean...these are all included in our quote from plaster company. Also looking at having abalone shell added...is that recommended?
The prism matrix is sure pretty but almost $5,000 more. I appreciate your thoughts and any photos someone might have on these finishes.

WetEdge is a very good product. Abalone is a luxury for appearance, and fine if you want to add it. Only you can decide if its worth the cost. Personally, I would rather have one of their nice quartz finishes and put the extra money into other bling like nice glass tiles, and or some nice Mosaics. Its all a matter of taste and preference as is the color. First, decide what water color you think you'll want and enjoy long term. I prefer the natural water colors given off by lighter color finishes, but its your pool so get what turns you on.

They have tons of videos on YouTube showing different finishes with differing surroundings and youd do well to peruse them to see what you like.

The shells..........oh how I love the shells but............Matt(Joyfulnoise) has show me why they are not a good idea :( They can cause problems down the road since they are an "organic' substance. They can cause staining and such after a while.

If you want to add some BLING to the plaster you can add glass beads! They come in many wonderful colors and really do add an extra something.

For the color of your plaster. Share a picture of your area so we know what you are dealing with as far as trees and such.

I would also as your PB for any pools they have done with some of the colors you like so you can see them in real life. This will also show you if you want that PB to do the work!

Thanks very much for the thoughts. I will take a picture this evening and post tonight or tomorrow. I would really like the glass beads, but our plaster company is charging an additional $4,650 for Prism matrix versus the Satin matrix. My second bid offered Wet Edge also, as well as a glass bead pebble product they offer (Uno Glass Pebble...I guess this is a house blend as they're the Uno Contruction Company). Just thought it would be a good idea to go with a "brand name" product.

I have WetEdge Cool Blue. It's lighter in color than North Shore Caribean or Aqua Blue if I remember. Those have a bluer plaster base (not marcite, stronger) if I remember. My builder called those Smurf blue. I decided on Cool Blue because it was cheaper and I wanted a lighter finish due to the heat/sun where I live. My water temp this weekend was 72 and although we prefer to swim 80-90 I don't want it too hot in summer. I felt the darker blue finish would cause the water to be too warm.
