Weird water after shock

Hi Guys,

I shocked my hot tub yesterday.
With chlorine granules.

And i got this "film" on water, water was clear before shock and it was clear this morning until I run jets. ( I just cleaned filters )

Chlorine levels are ok.

I just tested pH according to colorq its 7.9
Alkalinity 77

But poolstore said my pH 7.1 but that must be wrong... Since strips colorq are at 7.9 and so is cheap pool test kit.

I ordered TF-100 but it will be few more days

After 10-15 minutes with no jets water is clear again

Glad it cleared up. You cannot compare pool store test to strips as they are 2 different methods. Once you get the TF-100 test kit then you can get consistency. Please review the videos on youtube for testing here.

So it clears up... But as soon as I run jets its back up... Circle

Agreed strips cant be compared, but colorq colorimeter and electronic ph stick cant be both wrong

Jets cause lots of turbulence in the water. This can indicate the water is not clear. My spa does that and I have no concern.
With regard to testing - you have to pick which one to go with - like I tell my kids - having too much of anything is not good - a man with 2 watches never really knows what the exact time is. If you have a electronic pH monitor and it is properly calibrated then that may be my choice.
