We have a heater!

After a long delay in ordering our pool heater, a Jandy JXI400 that was ordered last October…. It has arrived!! It was a pain in the Rear, but hopefully worth it! After the pool company installed the heater we needed a plumber to install a 150’ gas line… Next we needed to coordinate with our gas company (Centerpoint) to change the regulator and meter for the new Increased demand, that was the biggest challenge. Probably over 4 hrs on the phone! Anyways, everything is now done and it will be in the mid 80’s tomorrow! Let’s see what this heater can do! Pool day tomorrow!!!!!

Oooh... so *very* jealous. Like today with 83° today and pool around 65°... I so wished we had a heater.

Congratulations! We installed the same heater last year and are very pleased with it.

It's amazing how many challenges can come up on the gas supply side. Our heater replaced a long-out-of-commission one and we reused the existing gas line, which ran halfway around the house to the meter. After a month with the new heater we determined that the old gas line was leaking! It took two CenterPoint crews and three different plumbers to locate the leak, repair it, and blow out of the groundwater that had leaked into the gas line, plus a landscaping crew to do all of the digging. 1+ month ordeal but the first time heating up the spa after the repairs made it all worth it!
