So I have kind of an uncommon set of equipment made by Waterway Plastics. My pool controller is a Waterway Oasis. They are made in USA by a company in Oxnard, CA.

So far everything has worked out really great with it, I'm pretty happy.

BUT... on Tuesday night they updated their Android app, and since then my phone can't connect to the system. My iPad app still works fine. I talked to their tech support, and they kind of scratched their heads and said they would check with engineering and get back to me.

Anyone else had this problem? Or... anyone else even running Waterway equipment?

I have the newest version of Android, 9.0, on a Pixel XL 2.

Thanks!

Would it help to delete it from your phone entirely and then re-install??

Already tried all that... and resetting the network settings on the controller itself. Still connects fine with my iPad, even though it's also now on the updated app, but no luck on the phone. I think it's just the latest version of Android, I run into this from time to time on various apps. Since only the Google phones have the latest version, app developers don't seem to always be in a big rush to make sure it's compatible, especially for the lesser used apps.

Is this waterway Oasis a good controller? I am currently looking into using it. I have a pool pump, Heat pump and (1) water feature value to actuate. Will controller allow me to operate via Android phone?

In general, it works fairly well, and I believe it can control equipment from various different brands, unlike Pentair, etc., that are restricted to controlling their own equipment as far as I know. But, it is made by a very small company, and support is pretty poor. Few people, if anyone, here at TFP use it, so no one knows anything about it. And the support from the company itself is not good in my experience. I used to control it with an Android phone, then a new Android OS came out and the app would no longer work. I waited like 6 months, multiple calls to Waterway with no resolution, and still it did not work. During that time I was still able to control with my iPad, then I eventually switched to an iPhone. Not sure if they ever fixed it. So generally, I would recommend you stick to the big names, and under no circumstances would I get a Waterway Oasis if I was an Android user.
