Water under liner?

I take care of a 35,000 gallon pool for a neighbor. It has a vinyl liner. Plaster bottom and metal side walls. I have noticed that on the shallow end there is some wrinkles in the liner that did not used to be there. Also as it slopes down, The liner has separated away from the pool bottom and is very spongy and can be pushed down several inches. . It feels like you are jumping on a trampoline per se. The water pressure from the pool should be keeping the liner in place. My fear is that there is water under the liner… Between the liner and the plaster bottom. Back at the beginning of the season, the water was accidentally left on one filling the pool. I am not sure, but I am thinking water could have possibly gone behind the wall during that episode.

Has as anyone experienced anything like this??? I'm not sure what's going on.

Typically the weight of the water in the pool will force it out. If not I've heard of people using a shop vac to pull the water out from behind the liner. You might need to use some plungers or your feet to work the water over to the side of the pool.

Draining the pool down some would probably make it easier. Do a search on here, there are a few threads about this issue.

With all the rain we've had, Im not surprised that its ground water. Search well points. That should take care of excess ground water.
