Water loss after closing

I closed my inground pool in Sept. and didn’t blow the lines out right away (3 wks. Max, but it wasn’t cold yet). The water drained below the last step and I am unsure what to do. The liner is 10 yrs. Old, and with the drop in level pulled away from the steps since I really couldn’t fix it over winter. I need a new liner but feel like if that wasn’t the reason for water loss that I might be wasting more $$ by getting the liner 1st. I guess I don’t have much choice since it’s already pulled away?? The water is only in the deep end. My pool makes my head hurt in all seasons now. If only I were a Jack of all trades.

Welcome to TFP! So has the water stopped dropping? Typically wherever the water stops dropping, the leak is at that new waterline level. Can you post some pics of the pool from different angles?

Also see the link below for more thoughts.

Getting new liner now….but terroristic moles have chewed the concrete during the wait. What do I need to do to this before the liner is installed? Also, do you think this is black mold?
