I’ve recently noticed that my sight glass holds water in it almost constantly (even when not backwashing). Is this normal? The water isn’t moving, so I don’t think any water is being pumped in there - it just seems stagnant. My water level is lower than normal, so I’m wondering if water is being pushed into the backwash (even just a small amount), that I can’t see with a naked eye. Has anyone else had this issue?

Your situation seems to be fine for now (stagnant water). You should ideally see water flowing through the sight glass while in backwash and rinse modes. Once you go back to any other setting, the water flow should stop (in that glass), but you might see some residual water remain. If you see water going through there while on filter for example, it could be an indication the MPV's spider gasket (or key diverter) is failing.

If no water is exiting the backwash line, this is normal, won't affect anything.
To be sure there is no leak at the MPV, unscrew the sight glass with the pump running. Does it continue to drip? If not, no problem.
