Pool water turned green while I was on vacation. Neighbor decided to help and added lots of shock. Pool is now very cloudy, these are my numbers:
FC 3.4
CC .4
PH 7.2
TA 50ppm
CY 30+ could not get dot to disappear
CH 70

INtex pool 18x52 pool

What can I do to clear this up?:drown:

How are you testing?

Time to SLAM Process the pool. Simply 'shocking' is a Band-Aid, not a cure.

used the taylor k2006
It's good that you have a proper test kit, time to stock up on bleach and SLAM!

If you could not get the dot to disappear on the CYA test, your CYA is less than 30ppm. Are you testing CYA outdoors on a bright sunny day, back to the sun, holding the vial at about waist level in your shadow?

brought it inside to test.

Should I add a gallon every 3 hours?
The CYA test needs to be re-done outside, as I described.

You need to follow the SLAM Process procedure. I have no idea what size your pool is, or what strength bleach you will be using. Your SLAM level FC is based off of your CYA level. Bleach will need to be added whenever your FC falls below SLAM shock level.

Please re-read the SLAM procedure I linked to.
