Hey there, looking for some advice please.

Kids and wife say I’m OCD and the water is fine, but I think we have metal stains on the plaster. Pool is one year old, filled from our well. I’ve been maintaining with the TFP method using liquid chlorine, testing with Taylor K-2006c kit.

Not sure if it shows real well in the attached pics, but it looks like ere are brownish swirls in the plaster. I know there is some brown flakes in the plaster but I don’t think that is it. I don’t believe it’s algae, I can brush and brush and nothing moves. OCL is less than .2 difference.

My gut is telling me because we fill off a well, it’s iron. I’m going to pick up a generic iron test tomorrow and wanted to grab a quart of Sequa-sol as well. Thoughts??

Pics are both early morning and early evening. When the sun is full on the pool, it’s hard to even see what I’m trying to describe. Couldn’t get them to upload from my phone, so here’s a link:

I’m not seeing it. Show some close up pictures of the plastic trim and weir door of skimmer. I have high iron fill water, but that’s the only place I see any evidence - on the plastic.

Try posting your FC and CC again individually. 😉

Try the stain guide before buying products...

I would avoid the Sequa-Sol. HEDP sequestrants are much better for a number of reasons...

If it is Iron, we have a guide on AA treatment...and the use of sequestrants.

Thanks all for the replies! I’m pretty sure my wife is correct in that the he Pebble Tec is a little sparse in some areas with the texture giving it that appearance. She said it’s been like that since the day it was applied.

I briefly scanned the AA guide but will take a closer look at it especially in regards with HEDP sequestrants if they are ever needed.

I’ll also look for staining on the plastics when I get home although I have never noticed any already.

FC is still at 4.0

Pics of the pebble Tec in the shallow end, approx 4’
