Wait Until Cya is up to add more chlorine?

Hello, I'm wondering if I should wait for my cya to come up before wasting any more money adding chlorine. It's currently less than 30 PPM. I figured this out when I added 4 bags of shock the previous night and the next day about midday the chlorine was less than 1 PPM. I'm currently adding stabilizer, but from what I understand it can take a while so I'm trying to do it slowly , but my water is also very cloudy and getting dirtier now so I was wondering if I should continue to add shock. I currently have some tablets going to hold it off but that's it. The chlorine level is still less than one. Any advice would be great, thank you

Bags of "shock" are usually di-chlor . That contains CYA

Can you post a full set of test results?

Yes I typically use liquid bleach for that reason, but it appears I don't need to. I see other posts of similar issues with low cya and like them, I just backwash and top off with well water and rain. I wouldn't think this would be enough to drop it so much.

Ph 7.2 ( was about 6.8 been raising it)
Cya <30
TA 85
CH 120 (but I'm in-ground liner)
FC about .5
Need to get CC yet

Thanks

How quick would you lose chlorine on a cloudy day with little cya? I've got it very close to 30 but still coming up a little. I put 4 bags of shock in again last night (suppose to be "superchlorinating level") and mid day today again I measure basically no FC. I'm waiting on CC reagents but shouldn't there be a decent amount of FC after that? In the past it'd come up to 8 for days. Going to read about slamming though

Yes. Please. Read about the SLAM process :)

Can you tell us how you're testing?
