VS Pump speed

Where do you get it at?
Ernie's Pool & Spa Supply. They have 1 location in Campbell and another in Almaden.

Like most stores, I have overheard them selling Phosfree and the usual testing shenanigans so I can't speak to anything else about them except they have the good acid :)

Don’t worry about the noise. Your filter is clogging fast and you need more flow/psi to keep circulating. When all is said and done and you run a normal lower RPM/GPM, you’ll will not even know it’s running. From 10 ft away I would have to get closer to hear mine.
At 1600rpm, I often think to myself “ugh why is the pump off” only to go over to it and see that it’s happily plugging along.

BenB,

Where do you get it at? I'm always stuck buying it from Leslie's and they just keep raising the price. It's now over $19 for a case of 2.

Still don't understand why Home Depot doesn't carry the full strength in CA. I always see people from other states say their HD does carry the full strength, and it's the same price as the half strength, usually $10.99/case.

They do at the Home Depots in this part of CA (Sacramento area) -- outside in a corner away from the chlorine, in 2 gallons boxes (in jugs inside those boxes :) ). Usually both types in the same area. The 14.5% is usually labeled "Swimming Pool Muriatic Acid" and is ~$11 for 2gal, while the 31.45% is just "Muriatic Acid" and is ~$13 for 2 gal. I have been to individual stores that only had the 14.5% in past years, so it may be worth checking online for stock nearby.

Ok, did the initial OCLT. Last night it was: FC: 5/CC: 0.5 and this morning FC: 4/CC: 0.5. So a loss of 1. Thought it would be more... I had the cover on, does that matter?

Should I still do the SLAM?

Not for FC as the sun was already taken out of the equation. But it might affect the CCs as they build up when the pool can’t breathe. Still though, a .5 CC passes.

You don’t need to SLAM per the rules. I personally would and it should be a simple one because it’s either not needed or only needs a day or two to get what little bit of funk is going on.
Btw, I couldn't figure out how to fully turn off the SWG so I just set it to 0%.
You can pull the power cord (twisty nut and it pops off) or just set it to 0 like you did. (y)

Got the pH down to 7.2 and started the SLAM just now. Since I started late in the day (3pm), should I maintain FC of 7 until tomorrow night and do a OCLT then?
Show us a couple of pics of your water from a couple different angles so we can see the clarity.
Attached.

Click on the item from the main screen and it'll let you input from/to/chemical to show how much to add. Is that what you mean?
