Hello everybody as my name suggests I am visually impaired and also do all of my own pool maintenance LOL needless to say I use a grid system when I brush my pool hahaha

I have actually been on this forum for quite a while but lost the password to my old account so here I am with a new one. I will admit to being a very naughty boy and using trichlor pucks exclusively for which I am now paying the price with heavy scaling and cya level of almost 300. I will be fully draining my pool after the no drain acid wash I am currently engaged in in order to get the chemistry back on track. I struggle with test kits and rely on Leslie's for testing Which is less than ideal but the best I can do:)

He would not need to do extensive drains every month. There are some area where they do a partial drain for each winter due to freeze. Here I struggle to keep CYA in my pool due to lots of rain. So long as he knows what each puck adds to the water he should be able to manage his CYA using the pucks.

What I worry about is the PH of his water as some of the pucks acidic and push PH down. PH being out of balance can do more damage to pool surface and equipment than most anything. With PH testing being SO dependent on sight.......not sure what to tell you....

Do you have a neighbor or friend that can/will come over to do the tests for you?

Hello to all and thank you for your messages I actually own a pinpoint pH monitor that allows me to dip a probe into the pool and know the pH instantly it is a carryover from my days in the marine aquarium industry and if you guys don't like pH testing with chemicals I would highly recommend it although they aren't cheap

I am planning to use liquid chlorine with some sort of automated doser be it homemade or otherwise also plan to use liquid acid
