I have a 10 year old liner with a “hole”, more like the shape of a crack, about 12” long. I drained the pool to below the hole, and applied Flex Seal tape to patch the hole. I intend to use a spare piece of vinyl to put a patch over/around that. I initially tried using a “vinyl patch kit” and it didn’t adhere or hold well at all when applied under water.
So, my question is, what is the best adhesive to use? I can apply it dry and let it cure before re-filling the pool. I bought Loctite PL Marine Fast Cure because it comes in a large quantity, says it can be used on vinyl, and can be used under water. Is this a good adhesive? Can anyone recommend something better that is readily available?
I have a call out to the pool company to quote liner replacement. My goal is to limp along and salvage the season, or at least until they can replace the liner.
Before and after photos of original hole to draining and applying flex tape.
