Vinyl Corner Radius

We built a pool at our "Forever House" in 2013 and 2 kids later, sold that for something bigger.

We started down the road of building a pool in 2021 and the back ups and price hikes as well as job uncertainty, meant we couldn't do it then.

Anyway, we're back on the road to a pool in Middle Tennessee getting bids for 18 x 36 ft rectangle liner with auto cover.

One of the pool builders who was out to bid said "I won't do any corners smaller than 2 ft radius, the corners on anything smaller are problematic"

Our last pool had 6 inch corners and we DID eventually have one corner which had pulled out of the liner track, but it wasn't REALLY a problem and we didn't ever really try to fix it either.

Those of you with rectangle vinyl liner pools, how big are your corners and have you had any trouble with them?

Thanks for any advice!

You really have two issues. Aesthetics and install/maintenance.

Aesthetics...I don't, at a glance, see much difference...if I stare and study, I do. Neither bother me.

Install/Maintenance. It is much easier to install and maintain a 2' radius. Both from a liner perspective and a coping perspective.

It is common for the liner to pull away from a square corner or small radius 6" corner.

I'm lucky, I have cut off corners, but still have a bit of an issue in the 45 degrees to the cutoffs.

Twer' it I building new today, I'd take the 2' radius and not look back.

YMMV...after all it is YOUR pool.

I have hard 90s and the liner makes it's own radius. This was my 2nd pool done this way.
