Vacuuming bottom of pool on « Filter » mode sand filter

This year I decided to try vacuuming the bottom of pool on Filter setting instead of Waste.

I noticed what seemed like white stuff coming out of my jets while doing this. Is this a sign that something is wrong with my sand filter?

Was white stuff coming out after you stop vacuuming or just during the vacuuming?
it could be your sand filter needs to be backwashed to get rid of all the excess debris that was vacuumed up.
