Spent all of last week reducing my TA and balancing the pools chemicals. Yesterday had over 3" rain in less than one hour, entire backyard was flooded including the pool. Now I have to start over! Sigh!
Rain will lower TA a bit because there isnt any "TA" in it. While 3" is a lot of rain 3" of pool water isn't all that much in the scheme of things. There shouldn't be at drastic changes.
pH can go either way, everything else will go down, but not significantly. If the average pool depth is 5 feet, then 3" is only 5%. If TA is 80, the new number will be 76. It'll still test as 80.
Exactly FattyLumpkin. Nice layer of slit on the bottom. I have drained the pool down to the correct level, and added a jug of bleach. If it is not raining this afternoon, I will test the water.
